Gun Grease vs. Gun Oil
There are places to use oil, and places to use grease. Good quality synthetic grease will tend to stay where you put it. Oils will migrate off of the areas they are supposed to protect and stay "wetter". This causes them to collect firing debris, dust, and other matter than can cause malfunctions. Grease, when rubbed in, penetrates microscopic pores (almost like a polish) in the metal and are dryer to the touch, they continue to protect where they were applied and collect less debris. Most gun grease is very expensive, and yet will gum up or separate. Not all PTFE is the same either; most inferior lubes with PTFE will gel up. Don't pay $20 per ounce for a boutique brand name that performs the same or worse. Super Lube® is proven quality at a great price. Add some to your order today!

AR lube points. Grease is also commonly used in AR assembly such as the barrel nut threads, the muzzle device threads, and the buffer tube threads, to keep those parts from seizing up.
